AUDITIONS for Visiting Mr. Green by Jeff Baron

Casting one Role:  Ross – Actor, male, age mid-20’s to mid-40’s

No monologue prep is required, you will be asked to  read from the script.
Performances for Visiting Mr. Green will be October 7 - 23 at the Charleston Acting Studio.

Synopsis:  Mr. Green, an elderly, retired dry cleaner, wanders into traffic on New York's Upper West Side and is almost hit by a car driven by Ross Gardiner, a busy corporate executive. The young man is charged with reckless driving and given the community service sentence of helping Mr. Green once a week for six months. The play starts out as a comedy about two men who do not want to be in the same room together, but turns into a gripping and moving drama as the men get to know and care for each other, opening old wounds they have been hiding for years.

Please be prepared to sing and there will be a simple movement exercise.
There are roles available for ages 16 and up.

At Auditions: Cold readings from the script & monologues; IRISH ACCENT IS PREFERRED. Bring a close up picture of you to attach to your audition form.
Roles:
Jack -a mechanic and garage owner (30's-50's).
Brendan - the owner of the pub in which the play is set (20's-30's)
Jim - Jack's assistant (20's-40's).
Finbar Mack - a local businessman (30's-50's).
Valerie - a Dublin woman (20's-30's).
About the play: Set in a small tavern in rural Ireland, local men swap spook stories in an attempt to impress a young woman who recently moved into a nearby "haunted" house. The tables are soon turned when she tells a tale of her own and an innocent evening soon becomes a night of personal revelation.
Playing: October 28-November 6
