2013 SUMMER EDUCATION PROGRAM
This summer, the Charleston Acting Studio is presenting three different theatre camps focused on children, creativity, imagination, and fun. In June and July, we are offering a one-week camp which will explore theatre from every angle--performance, design, and production. Students will have the chance to explore theatre through the creation of an original script. Students not only create their own characters and story, but also design costumes, make-up, and the set. The week long camp culminates on Saturday with a production for family and friends to enjoy.
In July we are offering a two-week camp that delves deeper into performance while developing movement and vocal technique. Students will create an original script through improvisation and creative activities. As the days progress, students will learn the art of design--costume, set, and make-up--as well as stage combat. This two-week exploration culminates with a performance of
the original script created by the students.
Our Summer Camps are designed with your family in mind. This summer we are pleased to announce early drop-off and late pick-up. Instructors will be at the studio starting at 8:30AM and as late as 5PM at no extra cost to you. Students will get the opportunity to set up and help with set construction. In just 2 weeks, lead by Ms. Maggie or Ms. Andrea, the kids get to improvise, create charcters in different skits or songs, put the pieces together to create a show. Then they rehearse, design and craft their props and costumes...all culminating into a final stage performance for family and friends!
