Shakespeare's darkest comedy is aptly titled as all things (even its structure) must maintain their delicate balance.  Part dark and ominous drama and part broad, even slapstick comedy - Measure For Measure is at its center the story of Angelo (the Duke of Vienna's proxy, who in his zeal to enforce the letter of the law loses sight of the spirit of it) and Isabella (who must decide between sleeping with him to save her brother's life or preserving her chastity and thereby sealing his doom).
 

Attention all area directors! 

The Footlight Players are embarking on a new way to select shows for their season moving forward.  As a community theatre, Footlight understands the importance of giving the directors who wish to direct at Footlight an opportunity to pick shows they wish to do.

If you are interested in in directing for Footlight's 2009-2010 season please submit 3-4 plays you are interested in directing with their descriptions, as well as your resume. The deadline is September 1, 2008.  It is important to the Footlight community to produce plays and musicals that have not been presented on the Footlight stage before.  A list of plays produced at Footlight in the past 76 years is available upon request.  The play reading committee will go over all submissions and select a season of plays that is best for the Footlight Players' 78th season.  If your show is selected you will be asked to direct it.
