Footlight Players

The Footlight Players, Charleston's oldest continuously performing theatre company, is celebrating its 78th anniversary season in 2009-2010 and is located in the heart of the French Quarter.  What began as a small group in 1931 has become a theatrical tradition in Charleston, built and strengthened over many years by hundreds of willing hands, by priceless gifts of time and toil, enthusiasm and talent, and strong community support. We have been and will continue to be a community theatre providing an outlet for the creativity, energy and cultural aspirations of local talent, as a theatre rooted in the traditions, needs and dreams of our community.  Every single individual who participates in our productions volunteers their time and talents purely for their love of theatre.  Footlight is a magical place that will transform you to a different place in time.
